Not unless we read a longer short story that was actually a novella or novelette, but I don't think we did.

Class,

I'm already planning for next year. I spent the past few days in AP training, and I'm really excited about all the great literature we will study while building our skills up for college and the AP exam. I want to be 100% sure of the major works you've studied throughout high school, so I am going to make a list below of novels and plays. Please review the list and let me know if I'm missing something, or I have something listed you have not studied.

11th Grade:
The Crucible
The Great Gatsby
To Kill A Mockingbird
Catcher in the Rye

10th Grade:
Of Mice and Men
The Pearl
Our Town
Julius Caesar
12 Angry Men

9th Grade:
Anthem
Great Expectations
Romeo & Juliet
???The Red Badge of Courage??? (Was this added after you left 9th grade?)
???Raisin in the Sun??? (Was this added after you left 9th grade?)

I recommend this book because I think it has many aspects that are pleasant for the reader. It has many external conflicts and is somewhat suspenseful. It has a little bit of romance which makes it soft and somewhat relatable to the real world since most of the aspects and conflicts are not possible in the real world. It is easy to read and isn't too long so it shouldn't bore the average reading person.

I think the theme of my book is to never give up. This is shown in many of the internal and external conflicts throughout the book. One way it is shown is through the fact that Matt does not give up on his training to become an astralnaut despite his slim chances of making it. Another example is that Matt loves Kate and never gives up on her and him being together even when he learns she is engaged and that her parents would never let her marry him.

The irony of the book is that both the main characters, Matt and Kate, love each other but neither know the other loves them. Kate gets engaged to a man named James, but doesn't want to be engaged to him. Matt becomes jealous over nothing for she plans to break the engagement when they get back to earth. When they head down to earth at thousands of miles per hour, Kate rips the ring off and admits her love for Matt and he admits his love for her.

The book is first set in Paris, France. Then the main characters are invited on a journey to outer space, which means they are now going to their home city, Lionsgate City, Canada where they spend their time training and preparing to go to space. Then they go to space where they study the wonders of space and learn of the many misteries in the vast emptiness. The time period of the book is not specified.

Over all this book was decent and i thought it was a tad to dramatic. the funny thing is every thing works out in the end kind of like a little fairy tail exept it has to do with baseball. I would recomend this book if you like baseball and can handle or have a lettle matuerety while reading it. the book does sware but its not excesivily like some books do. the charecters do go in death to some exstent but not to in deth. this book may help you out with your pesonal lifeand it is ovet all a good book.

i think the theme of this book is don't give up on life when its hard you got to keep pressing on no matter what happens. such as huge figthts that break out in the book and i am not going to say much other then it is very dramatic and it has good leasons involed in it. it also includes sticky sitchuations and many other thing that do happen in this book
